::::Ddcorkum, I don't think anyone is condoning or suggesting vandalism is okay, but I think many would agree as editors we have decided to move on to Wowpedia which means we not only won't be adding content to WoWWiki, but we won't be cleaning up either. Are you suggesting we try to commit clean up time to WoWWiki just because the dishonorable will continue to vandalize it?

::::Also, in the vein of cooperation, Wikia has chosen to not cooperate with a large chunk of its community and I don't believe in largely asymmetric or one-way cooperation. I will not make duplicate additions or updates to WoWWiki just because it is trying to serve the same purpose as Wowpedia. You would have to make a very compelling argument to convince people to do everything twice and so far, in my opinion, you haven't. -- Fandyllic (talk · contribs) 3:04 PM PST 7 Nov 2010

:::::Sigh. Please re-read my original post. You've completely missed the point. I am not asking anyone from here to help WoWWiki, nor am I asking anyone there to help Wowpedia. I am asking people not to engage in acts of vandalism, and to recognize the legitimite right of the other site to exist unhindered (whether or not we want it to). Forums: Village pump → Vandalising WoWWiki

This post is being made at both WoWWiki and Wowpedia. I would hope that the community on both sides would unanimously support me in this.

I ask that everyone pause and consider the consequences of their actions -- not just to themselves but to the community as a whole -- before taking action against which diminishes or reflects poorly on either fork. Acts of vandalism is wrong, no matter the reason. Both WoWWiki and Wowpedia have a legal right to exist (as enshrined by the copywrite license we all agree to when we make contributions).

The very concept of a Wiki requires that we collaborate, assume good faith, and treat each other with dignity and respect. It is on this basis that large Wikis such as WoWWiki/Wowpedia have come to be so successful. Despite the many differences of opinion between those participating in the fork and those not participating, I think we all need to remember the importance of acting with a kind, friendly spirit when editing BOTH wikis. This community (combined, both forks) was founded on principles of working together. As such, vandalism, or attempting to discredit or interfere with the operation of either portion of the community, is contrary to the principles that this community stands upon.

By vandalising either fork, be it WoWWiki or Wowpedia, you are chosing to act on personal motivations which fly in the face of the community spirit that has made this so successful.

The above is merely my opinion, as a casual contributer. Do you agree/disagree? --Ddcorkum (talk) 22:32, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

Vandalism is unacceptable. --g0urra[T҂C] 22:43, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

I am aware where this is coming from. I can not and will not condone any vandalizing of WoWWiki by Wowpedia's community, and vice versa. Wowpedia must be the bigger person, and not give Wikia anything to use against us. Be professionals here, people. Let WoWWiki die in peace.--SWM2448 22:50, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
Nor will I condone anyone vandalizing Wowpedia in the name of WoWWiki. I want us to all be civilized about this. If anyone vandalizes a page here and you suspect it's someone from WoWWiki being vindictive, please let me know on my talk page on WoWWiki. Deadlykris (talk) 23:33, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
I will. Personally I don't see the point in vandalizing articles and I don't see why people would do that. --Sairez (talk) 00:42, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

I personally find the vandalism amusing - especially when it was directed at me (my user pages were messed about way back when by vindictive people I outwitted, lol) - but I agree with SWM. Just leave WoWWiki to rot, let Wikia try to save their sinking ship - they don't need our help to send it to the bottom. Let's leave it be, and focus on our community here. --IconSmall Deathwing Joshmaul, Loremaster of Chaos (Leave a Message) 23:24, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Theres lots of vandalism on Wowwiki which has gone un-reverted, and I'm not even counting g0urrabots' edits. Its amusing that Wikia thought only 1 semi-active person could handle it. Wikia might as well give up now, as WoWWiki's edits since the admins demotion, is now nothing but fanfic in the main namespace, and CRAPtons of vandalism. Taking bets on when wowwiki loses its fansite status due to gold ads, etc not getting dealt with. lol Ressy (talk) 00:14, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
I don't think you quite understand the point of why I made this thread. Ddcorkum (talk) 04:26, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Oh, I do. I even reverted some of that Vandalism on WoWWiki. Went to go revert more there, and kept timing out constantly, so I gave up. Ressy (talk) 12:31, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
