Genders include male or female, although some creatures may not fall neatly into these categories. Character creation in World of Warcraft involves (among other decisions) selecting either a male or female gender, however this provides no gameplay effect and players may alter their gender as they see fit at Barbershops.

Since Thrall took leadership of the Horde, there is no discrimination between genders in orcish society.[1] Women are able to pursue the same career choices as men, rise to positions of power and are even expected to answer to the call for battle just as men are.

Some races previously discriminated against one gender or the other (for example, many years ago the orcs did not allow females to fight, and the night elves did not allow male mounted warriors), but war changes everything, including gender beliefs. Nowadays, both genders are accepted in all classes.[2]
