Gharga is the captain of the Blood and Thunder. He was formerly its first mate, when the former captain, Briln, had used the ship to ferry magnataur from Northrend to battle the Alliance in Ashenvale. When Garrosh Hellscream promoted Briln for his service, Gharga became the ship's new captain.[1] His first mate is Lokhor.
He was initially disappointed when the Blood and Thunder did not participate in the Razing of Northwatch until he was informed that he was to lead the naval fleet against Theramore. He was waiting for further instructions and when the time came, he ordered his ship to move close enough to see the towers of Theramore through a spyglass. When his mate first questioned why they had moved at all if they were not going to attack, Gharga explained that it was essential a scare tactic to leave the Alliance quaking in their boots as they technically sailed in Horde waters. When the command was given for the battle to begin, Gharga led the fleet against the Alliance until the Horde retreat was signaled. Wasting no time in following his orders, Gharga ordered the navy to retreat from Theramore.
Following the destruction of Theramore from the Focusing Iris empowered mana bomb, Gharga basked in pride at witnessing the power of the Horde as he gazed at the ruins of Theramore through his spyglass. He was soon visited by one the Kor'kron who ordered him at Garrosh's behest to form a blockade around Kalimdor. Some time after he would receive word to end the blockade and pull back presumably to Orgrimmar.
