There is no gain other than converting a [Refreshing Spring Water] into a [Shiny Red Apple]. There is no XP, no reputation with any faction, and it does not increase your Quests Achievement count.

Patch 5.0.5 (2012-09-11): Available once again with the exploit fixed. - Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Players were abusing its 30k guild experience reward (all quests reward this much) for quick guild leveling. Became unavailable shortly after.
