Gloomshade Grove is the place inhabited by neutral Podlings. They kill nearby creatures and haul the meat to piles in their lairs. They did something to the local squirrels, making them cannibals. Phlox has been leading Alliance Lumberjacks here in order to kill and presumably feed on them. After confronting Phlox in Gloomshade Grotto, the podlings turn hostile.

Leaf-Reader Kurri preaches the glories of the nearby fungus.
