Gorgonna is the current chieftain of the Warsong clan. She became the leader of Conquest Hold in Grizzly Hills with the aid of Horde adventurers, and would later lead the Warsong clan some time after the Siege of Orgrimmar.

History[]

Early life[]

As the Warsong clan crossed into Azeroth, Gorgonna and her sister Krenna were brought along by their parents. However, Chieftain Grommash Hellscream took issue with this and exiled the family from the Warsong camp. Subsequently, Gorgonna and her family wandered the wilderness, until they were eventually ambushed by human soldiers in Arathi, where their parents were slain and the pair of sisters were taken prisoner and thrown into Durnholde. Following the destruction of the internment camps, Gorgonna and Krenna were amongst the Horde forces that loyally followed Warchief Thrall to Kalimdor.[1]

Heart of War[]

As Garrosh Hellscream was visiting Orgrimmar, he got into an argument with Krenna that threatened to turn physical. However Gorgonna was able to step in and break up, as Krenna stormed away, Gorgonna explained to Garrosh her beliefs that the orcs must suffer as penance for the actions of the Old Horde. She further revealed how their parents fought in the wars and drank the blood of Mannoroth. According to Gorgonna, they committed terrible acts in the name of the Horde, including attacking and murdering the innocent.[2]

Wrath of the Lich King[]

She attempted to keep the damage caused by her sister Conqueror Krenna's heavy-handedness and lack of judgment to a minimum. For instance, Gorgonna sent the adventurers with a letter to spare Sasha, a captured trapper, from execution.[3] When the troll leatherworker, Hidetrader Jun'ik, attempted to substitute disguised grizzly hides for worg hides (his belief being that there would never be enough worg hide for her troops), Krenna ordered his leg broken and Gorgonna, seeking to make it look real, kicked him in the leg to make it look like she broke it.[4]

Eventually, Krenna discovered Gorgonna's actions and challenged her to a duel to the death, along with the adventurers who aided her.[5] Krenna was killed by Gorgonna and the adventurers in the Pit, and Gorgonna became the new leader of the Hold.

Gorgonna would later remark that with Krenna's death, the Horde was all she had left.

The Kosh'harg - chieftains

Gorgonna, Farseer Aggralan, and her fellow orc chieftains.

At some unknown point in time after the fall of Garrosh Hellscream, her uncle Gargok reached out, wishing to make their family whole again. Gorgonna made her way to Ashenvale, where she discovered that the Warsong had been shattered by what Garrosh had become. As she found a new place to belong, she eventually proved her strength to all of the clan through mak'gora, and became the clan's new chieftain, where she vowed to never let them lose their honor again. Thus she represented the Warsong at the first Kosh'harg on Azeroth in Razor Hill.[6]

When the clan leaders gathered inside of the Razor Hill Barracks to pitch their clan to prospective orcish recruits; Gorgonna declared that Lok-Tar Ogar defined the Warsong, how the clan valued skill on the battlefield above all, how the clan was well known for their fearsome battle cries. However, she further stated that, they have learned the lessons of the past, and that they would never again sacrifice honor to achieve victory, with the fall of Garrosh ensuring that. Upon the champion requesting to join the Warsong, Gorgonna was glad to hear it.[7] Se subsequently instructed them with hunting, tracking, and killing Gor'krosh, the Long Knives, without their armor, in order to test their skills in battle.[8] Following their success, Gorgonna accepted the Inv misc eagleclaw blue ["Long Knife"] as a trophy on behalf of the clan.[9]

During the feast celebrating orc champions for completing the om'gora, Gorgonna sat with her clan, where she informed Nazgrim that as far as she was concerned he died with honor and continued to serve with honor in undeath.[10] As the Kosh'harg festival neared its ends, Gorgonna cheered orc champions as the champion of their people.[11]
