Gowzis is orc among the band of Horde refugees that were cared for by the apothecary Cotley.

When they were approached by Visrynn, the dark ranger demanded that they take a vow of silence, to which they all agreed. While she traveled with them, Cotley tended to her injured hand and learned that she sought to go south and was charting a boat from Faldir's Cove. In time, an Alliance strike team led by Turalyon and Alleria Windrunner came upon them looking for Visrynn. Her son, Zun panicked and tried attacking the Alliance only to be stopped by Turalyon, and in fear for son's life she begged for him to be spared, which they accepted.

With the powers of the void, Alleria was able to sense that Gowzis knew about Visrynn, and thus Turalyon tried to coax answers out of her. When that failed to yield results, they agreed for more drastic measures and Alleria interrogated her with the void. This act caused an outraged Cotley to tell them everything he knew. In response, Alleria ceased her attack and ordered for Celosel Nightgiver to give the refugees food, blankets, and what they could spare.
