It is unknown how she was able to change forms because at the time, the closest thing to a cure merely gave control back to the human side. However, it is revealed that Genn Greymane had been such a worgen in human form through the entire questline. Other worgen are able to shapeshift at will, even before the Ritual of Balance was created, such as those of the Wolf Cult and Wolfcult.
- Grandma Wahl appears calm and senile and does not even remember shifting. With her emotions in check, she might only shift when angered, similar to Genn Greymane.
- Grandma Wahl could have been a member of the Wolf Cult, which had spread to Duskhaven, and whose members could shapeshift at will.
