Heart Forge

The Heart Forge is found in the Chamber of Heart. It is used to infuse the [Heart of Azeroth] with Azerite essences.

Activating the Heart Forge was MOTHER's idea; she detected that Azeroth was still dying, and that something needed to be done to further help her. After some calculations, MOTHER concluded that infusing the Heart of Azeroth with magical essences would fortify it and, in turn, the planet herself.^[1]

Unlocking the Heart Forge[]

In order to unlock the Heart Forge and gain access to the essence system, you need to complete a series of requirements:

Unlock world quests in Kul Tiras and Zandalar. This is done by completing [60] Uniting Kul Tiras/ [60] Uniting Zandalar or, for alt characters, [60] Uniting Kul Tiras/ [60] Uniting Zandalar.
Complete the Nazjatar intro to open up Mezzamere/ Newhome. The Nazjatar intro begins with [50] Send the Fleet (or, optionally, [50] The Wolf's Offensive/ [50] The Warchief's Order) and ends with [50] A Way Home.
Accept [50] Essential Empowerment from Magni Bronzebeard in Mezzamere or Newhome. This begins the Heart Forge unlock questline; the forge is unlocked several quests later, in [50] The Heart Forge.

Slots[]

With the Heart Forge unlocked, you can either interact with the Heart Forge or right-click on the [Heart of Azeroth] to view the essence interface. It contains slots that can be activated at the Heart Forge after reaching certain Heart of Azeroth levels. Note that [50] The Heart Forge immediately raises your Heart of Azeroth level to 50, allowing use of the major slot right away.

Trivia[]

During the patch 8.3.0 PTR, a second forge was located within Ny'alotha, the Waking City for testing purposes. This forge used the Altar of the Eternal Hunt model.
