Objectives

The broken helm behind Bolvar

Test the broken Helm of Domination on Darion Mograine.

Description

I created Domination as a tool to punish Zovaal.

My anger informed that creation, and now we pay the price for my hubris. Even Eternal Ones err on occasion.

But we are not without hope.

Take the half of the broken Helm of Domination, and test it upon one of your own. If it retains enough power, it can then be used to test it elsewhere in Zereth Mortis.

Progress

We will not give up until we have stopped Zovaal.

Completion

Even those who overcame Domination are not entirely immune to it now.

But there may be something buried in that history that can aid us.

I will think on this.

For now, focus your efforts on the creatures of Zereth Mortis. See what makes them more resistant.

Using Domination on Darion

On accept, Darion runs to the back of cave to stand next to the Ancient Waystone.

Highlord Darion Mograine says: I volunteer. I can bear this pain again, for the good of the many.

Taelia Fordragon says: Take the helm, <name>. You have the best chance of using it without giving in yourself.

Interact with the Shard of Domination behind Bolvar.

 Helm of Domination — Holding a piece of the broken Helm of Domination.

This unlocks an Extra Action Button:

 Domination — Test the power of the broken Helm. 20 yd range. Channeled.

Use the ability on Darion, turning him hostile:

Highlord Darion Mograine yells: The power! It is too much!

Bringing him to 80% health causes him to turn friendly again and kneel in defeat.

Highlord Darion Mograine says: Hold! I am myself again.

To death knights, he instead says:

Highlord Darion Mograine says: As expected from you, Deathlord. Well struck.

He then gets to his feet and walks back to his previous position.

Baine Bloodhoof says: So, the helm retains its power. While fortunate for us, it remains disturbing.

Accepting this quest unlocks new dialogue options with Anduin:

There is a shadow upon my mind. Like a cold hand whose fingers curl ever so softly around your heart.

 Remind me what happened in the Sepulcher?

The same cutscene as during  [60] The Broken Crown plays.

...and Jaina:

It is good to have Anduin back with us.

But I fear he will be haunted by the memory of the things the Jailer made him do.

I know how long it takes to forgive oneself.

I feel... conflicted.

Even when he committed atrocities... he thought he did so in the name of justice.

I am one of the few who can still remember the prince, and not just the monster.

...and after completion, also the Primus:

Domination was never meant to cause the devastation that Zovaal has wrought. We suffer the price of my hubris.

The Primus says: Domination is akin to communication, a language, if you will.
