High Priestess Laurena is a human priestess and priest trainer located behind the altar in the Cathedral of Light in Stormwind City.
Based on her title, she is a high-ranking member of the Church of the Holy Light and appears to be in charge of the cathedral.
History[]
World of Warcraft[]

High Priestess Laurena is present at the Cathedral of Light where she met new promising priests who have caught the attention of senior members of the Church of Light with their dedication, and who are worthy to continue their training.[1] In particular by teaching them a spell to protect themselves and their companions from the attacks of those who use the arcane.[2]
When she has nothing more to teach, she redirects them to other master priests so that they continue their training.[3][4]
Cataclysm[]
Following the Cataclysm, High Priestess Laurena took care of sending promising priests on missions.[5][6] To honor the deeds of a priest hero, King Varian Wrynn commissioned the royal enchanter Lucan Cordell to create a special staff for them, thus Laurena sent the adventurer to obtain unique materials that could only be found in the cursed Shadowfang Keep in Silverpine Forest.[7] She later them to fight the enemies of the Alliance in Blackrock Depths, and to prevent the influence of the Twilight Hammer over the Dark Iron clan, in order to stop them from recruiting more into their ranks, notably by burning the books that the Twilight's Hammer distributed.[8]
Before the Storm[]
She was present at the ceremony at Lion's Rest after the Argus Campaign, where she blessed the troubled King Anduin Wrynn before giving a speech to the gathered crowd, in the same way as the Archbishop Benedictus following the war against the Lich King. Once she was finished, King Anduin continued the speech.[9]
Later, she came to find King Anduin in the Netherlight Temple, anxiously asking him to return with her to Stormwind as his servant Wyll Benton was dying.[10] She accompanied the King through the portal to Stormwind Keep where Genn Greymane was waiting for them,[11] and was later asked to tend to Wyll's body for his funeral, with all the rituals due to someone so close to the Wrynn family.[12]
She was later contacted by Calia Menethil about Wyll's situation, and she informed her that the King's servant had recently passed away of old age.[13]

- Before the Storm also mentions the ceremony for the deceased of the war against the Lich King. During that ceremony, Archbishop Benedictus gave the speech. As such, Laurena seems to have replaced Benedictus, at least in giving speeches and given her rank, probably as the leader of the Church of the Holy Light as well.
- As Laurena was able to enter and find Anduin in the Netherlight Temple, without being accompanied or invited, she may be a member of the Conclave.
