Hope in World of Warcraft.
Hope Saldean is the adopted daughter of Farmer Saldean and his wife Salma. As a young girl, she wandered into the Saldeans' farmhouse and collapsed on the floor. As no one had any idea as to who she was or who her family was, and she appeared to have no recollection either, the Saldeans adopted her, naming her Hope ("for that is what she represented", as Salma Saldean relates it).

True identity[]
In [5-30] Rise of the Brotherhood, "Hope Saldean" is revealed to be Vanessa VanCleef, the daughter of the Defias kingpin Edwin VanCleef. Five years earlier, Vanessa had watched helplessly as her father was killed in front of her by agents of Stormwind. She used her unknown past and status as the Saldeans' daughter as a cover to revitalize the Defias Brotherhood and take revenge on Stormwind for killing her father.
