Instant Poison is a level 10 rogue ability that applies a poison to their weapons. Every time the rogue hits with their weapons, there is a 30% chance to instantly cause additional nature damage.

For Assassination rogues, Instant Poison is replaced by Ability rogue dualweild [Deadly Poison] at level 13.

  • As a Lethal poison, Instant Poison cannot be used at the same time as Inv misc herb 16 [Wound Poison].

  • Shadowlands Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Reintroduced as a level 10 ability available to all Rogues.
  • Legion Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Removed.
  • Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): Reintroduced as a Draenor Perk for Combat rogues, taught by Spell nature corrosivebreath [Swift Poison].
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Removed.
  • Cataclysm Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Poisons no longer have levels and scale as abilities do.
  • Wrath-Logo-Small Hotfix (2010-01-07): The bonus damage rogues gain from attack power for Instant Poison has been decreased.
  • Wrath-Logo-Small Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): Redesigned to have its chance to be applied based on the speed of the weapon (frequency-based).
  • WoW Icon update Patch 1.11.0 (2006-06-19): Stacks up to 20.
  • Test-inline Patch 0.7 (2004-06-15): Damage slightly reduced.
