Disrupting Shout — Scream fiercely, burning 4050 to 4950 mana against all enemies within 45 yards. Also stuns and inflicts physical damage equal to twice the amount of mana burned. Only strikes players within line of sight. Cast every 25 seconds. Razuvious will emote with Triumphant Shout only when someone is struck by Disrupting Shout.
Unbalancing Strike — Inflicts 350% weapon damage and leaves the target unbalanced, reducing their defense skill by 100 for 6 sec.
Taunt — Taunts the target to attack you. Lasts 20 seconds. 1 min cooldown.
Shield Wall — Reduces physical and magical damage taken by the understudy by 75% for 20 sec. 30 sec cooldown.
Mind Exhaustion — When Mind Control ends for any reason, the understudy becomes immune to all charm effects for 60 seconds.
Hopeless — When Instructor Razuvious is defeated, all remaining Deathknight Understudies become Hopeless, increasing all damage taken by 5000%.
Prior to engaging Razuvious, all trash in the stables area must be cleared as it is linked to him, and any trash remaining will aggro upon pull and quickly wipe the raid.
Two Priests at minimum are mandatory for this encounter, as Razuvious cannot be tanked by normal means due to his high damage. Only Deathknight Understudies are capable of withstanding Razuvious' attacks, and will need to be mind controlled. It is highly recommended that assigned priests have 3% spell hit in order to reduce the chance of both mind control and mind soothe resists, and to reduce the chance of mind control breaking early.
The pull is one of the most challenging aspects of the encounter, as Razuvious quickly engages and will one-shot any raid member he hits. Understudies must be controlled and be ready to engage Razuvious in just a few seconds, before he reaches line of sight with the raid.
Several methods have been used to successfully pull:
Have a hunter pull the boss and kite him straight back, through the circle where the boss starts. Once a priest has the first Understudy ready to tank, the hunter only needs to [Feign Death], and the Instructor will run right back to the raid, past the Understudy, who would only need to taunt in order to gain aggro.
Alternatively, two priests can [Mind Soothe] the two closest understudies, and proceed to mind control without interruption when Razuvious is on the far side of his patrol. Watch out when he stops to talk to them though, as that will throw things off.
It should be noted that Mind Soothe resists cause threat, and will pull all understudies and Razuvious onto the priest. A wipe can be avoided if only the two priests are near the boss while mind soothing.
Another alternative, a rogue with the talent [Preparation] can bow pull and 'evasion tank' the Instructor until one of the adds are mind controlled and have him taunted, though this is risky as any hit landed will kill the rogue.
Finally, pull the two "inactive" understudies back to the raid group, where their respective off-tanks can pick them up.
The first priest that is tanking needs to mind control their Understudy, cast shield wall, and taunt the boss. Once Razuvious is taunted he must be positioned appropriately. The second priest should prepare by slightly staggering their mind control, and then proceed to have their Understudy attack the boss.
When Razuvious strikes the first understudy with Unbalancing Strike, the second understudy should immediately shield wall and taunt the boss. The first priest should wait til their understudy is sufficiently healed, and then let mind control end and prepare the next understudy in the same fashion. This cycle repeats, with "inactive" understudies being off-tanked within mind control range of the priests while Mind Exhaustion wears off.
Positioning is key to keeping the raid alive. Disrupting Shout hits most mana using classes for 6200 - 8500, and will one-shot a majority of the raid should it go off within line of sight.
Priests actively tanking must position their Understudy in a way where the Understudy is in line of sight of the Healers, but Razuvious is not. At no point in the encounter should any healer ever be in line of sight of Razuvious.
Ranged DPS should stay grouped with the healers, using the railing to line of sight before Disrupting Shout.
Melee DPS should stay on Razuvious at all times.
Hybrid melee (enhancement, feral, retribution) will be struck by Disrupting Shout, but will unlikely have sufficient mana to be one-shot. These classes should still consider evading Disrupting Shout to avoid a full mana burn. Disrupting Shout will hit druids regardless of shapeshift form.
It is difficult for DPS to pull threat off the Understudies as they hit very hard against the Instructor, and their Taunt effect lasts 20 seconds. However, be ready for early mind control breaks, because if the next Understudy is not ready to tank, Razuvious will attack the raid. This means that casters should be careful as pulling Instructor to the ranged group before he shouts will result in a wipe. If a caster does pull, they should quickly move within melee range to avoid Razuvious crossing into line of sight with healers.
Priests should always be prepared for mind control to break early, and must quickly react by preparing another Understudy. Mind control breaking too early repeatedly will cause a wipe due to Mind Exhaustion, though this will likely only happen with insufficient spell hit.
Mages should cast [Amplify Magic] on mind-controlled understudies to assist with healing, as there is no magical damage taken during this fight. Warlocks however should not cast [Curse of Shadow] as Understudies have no shadow resistance.
Off-tanking the Understudies:
Tank the Understudies with your back to the boss. This way they are facing the Instructor and whoever is mind controlling doesn't have to worry about turning the Understudy around.
