Background
When Loken was corrupted by Yogg-Saron and had already indisposed most of the other Keepers, Archaedas and Tyr fled with their friend Ironaya, a giantess, as well as mechagnomes, earthen, and vrykul of the Storm Peaks.[1] Ironaya and her allies would later steal the Discs of Norgannon from Ulduar and flee south.[2]
Loken sent two C'Thraxxi after the group, and Tyr held them off, giving his life in the process. The vrykul stayed behind to honor him. After burying Tyr, Ironaya and the others traveled south to Uldaman and hid the Discs of Norgannon there. The earthen, fearing the Curse of Flesh, asked to be put into hibernation until the day would come that a cure could be found. The mechagnomes, even knowing they were also cursed, volunteered to stay awake and keep watch over the earthen. Ironaya and Archaedas also entered hibernation within Uldaman's vaults.[1]
Following the Fourth War, Mathias Shaw reported that he knows of a rumor about Uldaman's Chamber of Khaz'mul which is opened by the [Staff of Prehistoria] in the Map Chamber. According to a story, adventurers that would get the staff and enter the chamber would fight off Ironaya. Mathias, however, hasn't seen anyone carrying the staff.[3]
Adventure Guide
The titans did not construct the Uldaman complex directly but utilized various servants to create its megalithic halls. The Pantheon entrusted the watcher Ironaya with overseeing the construction and maintenance of Uldaman, but as time passed, the once awe-inspiring vault fell to ruin. Within the map chamber, Ironaya has spent millennia in a form of stasis, analyzing the original master plan drawn up by Khaz'goroth and attempting to find a way to restore the complex to its original functionality.
Abilities

- To summon her,
[Staff of Prehistoria] was needed before Cataclysm.
- The start of the event is greatly reminiscent of the film Raiders of the Lost Ark, but the results differ.
- Ironaya shares the same metal with an "-aya" suffix naming convention as Auriaya, another titanic creation.
- Ironaya is voiced by Kath Soucie.
- The League of Explorers adventure for Hearthstone features a minion called Keeper of Uldaman which closely resembles Ironaya. The card's artwork is labeled as "Ironaya-Keeper of Uldaman" on the artist's DeviantArt page,[4] but the minion is never referred to as "Ironaya" in-game.

She probably was the one who placed the seals that prevented Zakajz the Corruptor from coming back to life before Thoradin's arrival at Tyr's Fall (see
[10-45] The Sword of Kings).
