The Island of Doctor Lapidis is an island in the South Seas off the coast of Stranglethorn Vale, north of Gillijim's Isle. The island contains jungle troll ruins, and though it was featured in the original alpha of World of Warcraft it does not currently appear in-game. Notably, however, it appeared in several early depictions of Azeroth: the World of Warcraft World Map in 2006, on a map in The Comic, and in the World of Warcraft: Game Manual. It has also appeared on multiple maps within the defunct Warcraft RPG, including the Monster Guide Web Supplement in 2007.

- It was named after the exterior level designer Alan Lapidis.[1]
- The name may have been inspired by "The Island of Doctor Moreau".
