Inv sword 2h mawraid d 01

Jaithys, the Prison Blade drops from Kel'Thuzad, the penultimate boss encounter at the Throne of the Damned in the Sanctum of Domination. The sword has a unique on-use effect: it consumes other weapons, trading its secondary stats of crit and haste for an increasingly powerful on-equip proc, permanently destroying the consumed weapons in the process!

Consumption effect[]

Jaithys, the Prison Blade - Render Tribute

The visual effect of feeding Jaithys

As players feed weapons to Jaithys (or "Render Tribute" as the cast bar describes it), the secondary stats (crit/haste) are reduced, and the on-equip effect (Harsh Tutelage) is increased:

  1. 48 crit, 89 haste, no equip effect (baseline)
  2. 39 crit, 79 haste
Equip: When attacking an enemy, Jaithys has a low chance to guide your blade towards a weak spot, dealing 2,743 additional Physical damage. (1 PPM)
  3. 29 crit, 59 haste
Equip: When attacking an enemy, Jaithys has a chance to guide your blade towards a weak spot, dealing 3,457 additional Physical damage. (1.5 PPM)
  4. 19 crit, 39 haste
Equip: When attacking an enemy, Jaithys has a chance to guide your blade towards a weak spot, dealing 3,457 additional Physical damage and granting you 200 Strength for 3 sec. (1.5 PPM)
  5. 10 crit, 20 haste
Equip: When attacking an enemy, Jaithys has a chance to guide your blade towards a weak spot, dealing 3,457 additional Physical damage and granting you 400 Strength for 3 sec. (1.5 PPM)
  6. 0 crit, 0 haste
Equip: When attacking an enemy, Jaithys has a high chance to guide your blade towards a weak spot, dealing 3,457 additional Physical damage and granting you 400 Strength for 3 sec. (2PPM)

Feeding a weapon to the Prison Blade also creates one of the following trash items:

Quotes[]

Jaithys whispers to its wielder at random points while in combat, on rare occasions when killing an enemy, and whenever it consumes a weapon.

In combat
  • I am the harvester of sorrow...
  • Soon... soon... soon you will be no more....
  • This will be extremely painful! For you....
Weapon consumed (guaranteed) or enemy killed (rare)
  • Another broken promise.
  • Behold! Armageddon.
  • Can you feel calamity's grasp?
  • Heh, heh... murder...
  • Keep the cryptmaker busy.
  • Look upon me, and see your demise!
  • They said I was dull. Who has the last laugh now?
  • This will be your final voyage.
  • Ushered to the envoy of mortality.
  • You feed your damnation.
