Janeiro's Point is a small island just outside Booty Bay, upon which a giant statue of an unknown goblin with outstretched arms was built as a beacon to all travelers, welcoming ships to Booty Bay.[1]
The sea giant Mok'rash the Cleaver has chosen the island as his abode.
History[]
Cataclysm[]
In Cataclysm, Janeiro's Point for the most part has taken little damage. The giant statue, however, is damaged; its left arm has been destroyed, allowing entry by flying mount into the statue. Inside is a small alcove filled with unlootable treasure and chests, however it does contain a quest reward after completing [35H] A Shiny Reward.
Exploring Azeroth[]
After the Fourth War, Mathias Shaw and Flynn Fairwind visited the inside of the statue, mentioning it as hollow and the interior no longer filled with treasures, but with prisoners, animals, squatters, illicit substances, rotting corpses, fleeing couples and, once, even a tarnished crown.[1]
Dragonflight[]
After the reawakening of the Dragon Isles, dangerous Sandy Crocolisks were sighted at Janeiro's Point, and Blixrez Goodstitch saw value and opportunity in their hides. In order to provide Zeros information, Blixrez asked the adventurer to head to the islet and obtain the crocolisks' skin.[2]
Trivia[]
- The statue and its name are obviously a reference to the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, a symbol of the city and of the nation of Brazil.
Gallery[]
During the alpha the statue was that of a human, rather than goblin.
