Grubb played World of Warcraft heavily for a while, then quit, then came back with a group of friends in 2008, then quit again. The friends he played with would usually either outlevel him or quit the game, leaving Grubb's character an orphan. As a result, he had characters scattered around a half-dozen realms and never got to end-game content.
While Grubb has not authored any Warcraft novels since The Last Guardian, in 2008 he stated that he was open to the possibility of writing for Blizzard again should the opportunity present itself.
