Karynaku is the broodmother and matriarch of the Netherwing dragonflight, mate of its patriarch Neltharaku and mother of Mordenaku. Like all nether drakes, she is a descendant of the black dragonflight.
Karynaku has been captured by Zuluhed the Whacked, chieftain of the Dragonmaw Clan, and her children are being forced into the service of Illidan Stormrage's legions.
She was not released when Ragnok Bloodreaver attacked the fortress because Zuluhed escaped and the chains were still strong.[1]
After a long chain involving proving their worth to Netherwing, Neltharaku sends the player to locate Karynaku and free her from Zuluhed's control. After freeing her, the player becomes an ally of Netherwing.
After the netherwing made their new home in Thaldraszus on the Dragon Isles on Azeroth, she relocated with her flight and could be seen sleeping at their new roost next to Neltharaku.
