The Ruins of Kel'Theril

The Ruins of Kel'Theril.

The Ruins of Kel'Theril are the remnants of a great night elven city. It was destroyed long ago during the Great Sundering, and now lies in complete ruin, haunted by the tormented spirits of the Highborne who did not survive the disaster. The ruins lie on the edges of Lake Kel'Theril in central Winterspring.

There was a Remorseful Highborne here that gave a quest to Alliance players.

Cataclysm This section concerns content related to Cataclysm.

New undead mobs are here now. In addition to the night elven spirits that still inhabit the northern section of ruins, high elven ghosts now inhabit the eastern section (Betrayed Rangers and Archmage Maenius) while blood elven wretched inhabit the western section (Wretched Spectres). The Emerald Circle druid Kelek Skykeeper, waiting on the shores of Lake Kel'Theril, sends heroes off on a quest that ultimately describes how generations of elves were destroyed by the Inv misc orb 02 [Crystal of Zin-Malor].

In the RPG[]

Icon-RPG This section contains information from the Warcraft RPG which is considered non-canon.

Once the site of a Highborne city, Kel'theril was reduced to a lake in the Sundering, and subsequently froze over in the following years. Many of the city's pillars are partially above the water line, but much of the city is submerged and encased in ice. Lake Kel'theril is now the largest body of water in Winterspring, and the ghosts of the Highborne that died there haunt the lake.[1]
