While flying through a storm and over the area where he was sure Mechagon was located, Kervo's flying machine was suddenly struck down by a lightning bolt, causing him to crash on Mechagon Island. Word of an outsider's arrival reached King Mechagon who personally investigated the crash. Accompanied by a retinue of two other mechagnomes, Prince Erazmin, and a companion of the prince, they found Kervo and brought him into Mechagon City. Erazmin hung back a bit out of earshot with his friend, who told the prince that they could make use of the outsider.

When Kervo woke up, King Mechagon brought him on a tour of the city, explaining that the people of Mechagon were reverting the Curse of Flesh in order to become flawless like their mechagnome ancestors. The king showed Kervo how the mechanization process worked. When Kervo pointed out that the procedure looked and sounded like torture, the king replied that the pain of mechanization was only temporary compared to the constant, inescapable pain of aging and death.

A mechagnome brought Kervo back to his chambers to prepare for a celebration the king was planning for him the following day. Erazmin approached the pair and offered to escort their guest himself. Once out of earshot of the other gnomes, Erazmin told Kervo that he had to leave the city immediately that night. He explained that the king was using Kervo and his apparent pain and weakness to drum up support among his subjects for a device he planned to use to forcibly revert the Curse of Flesh among all organic life on Azeroth, which Kervo had to warn his people back home about. While Kervo tried to protest that he hadn't yet found what he came for, Erazmin stated that the warning was more important. He instructed Kervo to gather his things and be ready for when the prince came to get him out of the city.

Back in his chambers, Kervo looked over his maps and compass and decided that he couldn't leave empty-handed. He went to King Mechagon and informed him of his son's treachery. As a reward, Mechagon brought Kervo to the device Erazmin had shown him earlier, explaining that its process would be instant as opposed to the years-long mechanization process normally used. While he had never used the device on his own people before, Mechagon argued that they hadn't earned it like Kervo had.

When the device was activated, Kervo was instantly transformed into a completely mechanical being but braindead, unable to do anything except repeat the words "Found it" over and over again. One of the technicians noted that there seemed to be some damage, and Mechagon told him to make adjustments to the device so it wouldn't malfunction when used on the entire world. As for Kervo, Mechagon was of the opinion that he had gotten what he wanted, and all the time in the world to enjoy it.

When Erazmin and his companion came to escort Kervo and discovered that he was not in his guest quarters, the prince realized that the "crazy old fool" had given them away and that they needed to flee the city immediately before the Arcforged came for them.[1]
