King Rastakhan is a boss in the Battle of Dazar'alor raid.

This encounter is part of the Battle of Dazar'alor raid where Horde characters are transformed into soldiers of the Alliance.

Adventure Guide

For over two hundred years, King Rastakhan has ruled the Zandalari empire. Since the fall of Rezan, he has turned to a new patron--Bwonsamdi, the loa of death. The dark bargain he has made grants him the power to crush his enemies... but at what cost?

Overview

King Rastakhan calls upon his retinue of bodyguards to defend him and his throne room.

After Rastakhan's bodyguards have been dispatched, Rastakhan calls upon his Loa, Bwonsamdi, to come and aid him.

When Rastakhan reaches 60% health he demands that Bwonsamdi empowers him, causing Bwonsamdi transfer a portion of his Death power into Rastakhan. After the transfer, Bwonsamdi shifts to the death realm, pulling the closest half of the party with him.

Once Bwonsamdi is taken to 50% he abandons Rastakhan and teleports all players in the death realm to the realm of the living to finish the fight with Rastakhan.

Damage Dealers

Place Death Rifts in locations that will shield allies in the death realm from Dread Reaping.
Coordinate clearing Deathly Withering in Death Rifts.
Free your allies by destroying Zombie Dust Totems.

Healers

Place Death Rifts in locations that will shield allies in the death realm from Dread Reaping.
Coordinate clearing Deathly Withering in Death Rifts.
Avoid healing allies affected by Caress of Death.
Focus healing on players affected by Grievous Axe and Focused Demise.

Tanks

Place Death Rifts in locations that will shield allies in the death realm from Dread Reaping.
Move away from King Rastakhan when targeted by Scorching Detonation.
Move away from Bwonsamdi or King Rastakhan when targeted by Caress of Death.

Abilities

Stage One: Zandalari Honor Guard

Bind Souls — Binds Rastakhan's soul to his allies, absorbing all damage taken and transferring evenly among them.
Scorching Detonation — King Rastakhan channels fire at an enemy, inflicting Fire damage every 1 sec for 6 sec. When the channel ends the target explodes, inflicting Fire damage to all enemies. This damage is decreased the farther the main target is from King Rastakhan.
Plague of Toads — King Rastakhan unleashes a swarm of giant toads that hop forward leaving puddles of Poison Toad Slime behind them. If the toads collide with anyone they explode, inflicting damage every 1.5 sec for 12 sec to everyone within 5 yds. This effect stacks.
- Poison Toad Slime — Plague Toads leave behind puddles of poison, inflicting Nature damage every 1 sec, and slowing movement speed.
Greater Serpent Totem — Creates a Greater Serpent Totem, which casts Serpent's Breath at nearby enemies.
- Serpent's Breath — The caster unleashes a wave of flame, inflicting Fire damage instantly and additional Fire damage every 1 sec for 5 sec.
Prelate Za'lan
- Seal of Purification — The caster unleashes a holy beam that follows a person, inflicting Radiant damage every 1 sec to anyone in it.
Siegebreaker Roka
- Meteor Leap — Siegebreaker Roka leaps at a target, inflicting Nature damage split between all enemies within 8 yds. Siegebreaker Roka will them immediately cast Crushing Leap.
- Crushing Leap — Siegebreaker Roka leaps at the highest threat target, inflicting Physical damage and applying Crushed.
  - Crushed — Siegebreaker Roka Crushes the target's armor, increasing the damage taken from Crushing Leap by 500%. This aura can stack.
Headhunter Gal'wana
- Grievous Axe — Throws an axe at a random enemy inflicting Physical damage initially and then inflicting Physical damage every 1.5 sec, until healed past 90% of maximum health.
- Grievous Axe Flurry — Headhunter Gal'wana casts Grievous Axe 3 times in quick succession.

Stage Two: Bwonsamdi's Pact

Scorching Detonation — King Rastakhan channels fire at an enemy, inflicting Fire damage every 1 sec for 5 sec. When the channel ends the target explodes, inflicting Fire damage to all enemies. This damage is decreased the farther the main target is from King Rastakhan.
Plague of Fire — King Rastakhan launches a barrage of fire, inflicting Fire damage and imbuing the target with fire for a short duration. When this expires the target will launch a barrage of fire at all their allies within 7 yards. This barrage will continue to spread as long as targets are available to be hit.
Zombie Dust Totem — Creates a Zombie Dust Totem, which will mind control up to two enemies until destroyed.
Plague of Toads — King Rastakhan unleashes a swarm of giant toads that hop forward leaving puddles of Poison Toad Slime behind them. If the toads collide with anyone they explode, inflicting damage every 1.5 sec for 12 sec to everyone within 5 yds. This effect stacks.
- Poison Toad Slime — Plague Toads leave behind puddles of poison, inflicting Nature damage every 1 sec, and slowing movement speed.
Bwonsamdi
- Unliving — Absorbs all damage taken.
- Aura of Death — Death emanates from Bwonsamdi, applying Deathly Withering every 3 sec to all enemies within 30 yards. Deathly Withering inflicts Shadow damage every 3 sec.
- Death's Door — Embed's a fragment from the death realm in the target, inflicting Shadow damage every 2 sec for 8 sec. On expiration the target creates a Death Rift at their location.
  - Death Rift — Creates a portal linking the death realm to the living realm. Stepping into the rift while in the death realm clears all stacks of the Deathly Withering and triggers Withering Burst in the living realm. Any Dread Reaping that collides with a Dread Rift in the death realm is transferred to the living realm.
    - Withering Burst — Death energy explodes from a Death Rift, inflicting Shadow damage to all enemies.
- Caress of Death — The caster binds the death realm to his target, inflicting Shadow damage and absorbing all healing taken for a short duration.

Stage Three: Enter the Death Realm

Scorching Detonation — King Rastakhan channels fire at an enemy, inflicting Fire damage every 1 sec for 5 sec. When the channel ends the target explodes, inflicting Fire damage to all enemies. This damage is decreased the farther the main target is from King Rastakhan.
Bwonsamdi's Boon — Bwonsamdi infuses King Rastakhan with a portion of the Loa's power, increasing all damage dealt by 2% every 15 sec. This buff stacks.
Zombie Dust Totem — Creates a Zombie Dust Totem, which will mind control up to two enemies until destroyed.
Death's Door — Embed's a fragment from the death realm in the target, inflicting Shadow damage every 2 sec for 8 sec. On expiration the target creates a Death Rift at their location.
- Death Rift — Creates a portal linking the death realm to the living realm. Stepping into the rift while in the death realm clears all stacks of the Deathly Withering and triggers Withering Burst in the living realm. Any Dread Reaping that collides with a Dread Rift in the death realm is transferred to the living realm.

Bwonsamdi
