Landan Wrynn[1][2][3] was the father of Barathen Wrynn and king of the nation of Stormwind prior to the opening of the Dark Portal.
Notes[]
- The Ultimate Visual Guide misspelled his name as Landen, but it was corrected in the Ultimate Visual Guide, Updated and Expanded edition.
Retcons[]
According to Cycle of Hatred, during his reign, his court conjurer Nielas Aran was seduced by Aegwynn, who nine months later returned to Landan's court with the future Guardian Medivh.[4]
In the original lore from the Warcraft: Orcs & Humans manual, the events described above took place in the court of his son Barathen Wrynn.
World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1 later changed Nielas's backstory back to the original lore. After his son Medivh was born 45 years BDP, Aran became the official Court Conjurer of Barathen Wrynn who was already ruling for several years.
