The player learns how to create a  [Leystone Bar],  [Heated Leystone Bar],  [Leystone Cuffplate],  [Leystone Fingerguard], and  [Handcrafted Leystone Gauntlets], and receives 4x  [Shopkeeper's Leystone Ore].

Alard Schmied says: I'll just be upstairs so I can better observe your actions... at a safe distance.

The following objects glow and can be used to create the quest item: Alard's Forge (for Leystone Bar and Heated Leystone Bar), Alard's Anvil (for Leystone Cuffplate and Leystone Fingerguard), and Alard's Workbench (for Handcrafted Leystone Gauntlets).
