Linken is a gnome originally located at Marshal's Refuge in the Un'Goro Crater. He and his questline vanished from Un'Goro following Cataclysm, but reappeared in Mount Hyjal, aiding in the fight against Ragnaros' forces.
During the Great Gnomeregan Run, he is seen in Northern Stranglethorn cheering at the participants.

- His name and appearance is a reference to Link, the main protagonist of The Legend of Zelda video game series. The quest sequence that Linken once gave was a reference to the series' first game, The Legend of Zelda.
- After the player completed
[52] It's a Secret to Everybody, when Linken was spoken to, he said "I met a man that said 'Master using it and you can have this'". This was a reference to the Old Man that appeared at the beginning of the first The Legend of Zelda game.
- One of his lines during
[35 Daily] The Protectors of Hyjal, Oh, boy! I'm so hungry, I could eat a fire elemental! is a reference to the infamous Legend Of Zelda CD-i games. It comes from the original phrase, "Oh, boy! I'm so hungry, I could eat an octorok!"
