Lion's Watch (or Lion's Stand)[1] is the main Alliance base in Tanaan Jungle. It was established by the Alliance player and Exarch Yrel soon after landing in Tanaan Jungle to begin the final offensive against Gul'dan and the Iron Horde. The base is well fortified, with numerous cannon positions located around it. The outskirts, however, are shelled frequently by Iron Horde artillery. Lion's Watch acts as the main staging ground for the Alliance offensive against Gul'dan. Lion's Watch is also the de facto headquarters of the Hand of the Prophet.
The location was scouted by Exarch Naielle, the Rangari Prime. She recommended the site to the Alliance commander, based on its excellent location, good fields of fire, and excellent recon routes.[2]
