Locations in World of Warcraft fall under several levels of classification:

• Worlds / Planes
  • Continents
    • Zones / Regions
      • Subzones / Sub-areas
        • Settlements
        • Instances

To reference a certain location you can use coordinates or a map.

In the RPG

This section contains information from the Warcraft RPG which is considered non-canon.

In the various incarnations of the Warcraft RPG, locations have more varied classifications that are less systematic and more resemble historical and geographical designations.
