Loon Mai is a warrior and captain of the Shado-Pan found at Stoneplow in the Valley of the Four Winds. He is the one in charge of the Shado-Pan defending the Valley. Despite the few forces he has under his command, he valiantly and tactically defends the Valley against the mantid swarm. After the Ik'thik Colossus shatters the Serpent's Spine, he receives aid from the gathered forces of Stoneplow, Halfhill, the Red Crane Monks, the Tauren Sunwalkers, and the Night Elf Sentinels if the player has completed all of their quests during the Valley of the Four Winds and Krasarang Wilds storylines. Loon Mai witnesses the fall of the Ik'thik Colossus and rewards the player after

- The defense of Stoneplow is more important than you may know.
- If the mantid take Stoneplow, they may as well take this entire valley. Beyond this wall, there is nothing to stop them from sweeping through the entirety of Pandaria.

What is happening here?- The mantid are attacking, and we are shamefully unprepared.
- Under normal circumstances, our enemy is quite predictable. We anticipated that the next full-scale mantid attack would hit in about ten years, as they do so regularly every hundred.
- This current invasion is hardly "full-scale", but it's still strong enough to catch a farming village unawares. Had my Shado-Pan not been keeping such a watchful vigil on the wall, Stoneplow might have already fallen.
- Shado-Pan?
- Yes. The defense of Stoneplow currently rests on me, Guard-Captain Oakenshield[sic], and three others of our order. As we speak, those three Shado-Pan are standing at the foot of the wall, waiting to defend against the next wave of attackers. This is our charge - to protect Pandaria from the enemies that the common people have all but forgotten about.
- What happened to the wall, anyway?
- A few days past, I saw a bolt of dark energy crackling through the ground from my tower vigil. It came from the west, fracturing the wall, and very nearly breaking through it entirely.
- You can still see the scars it left. It ruined these farmers' land.
- The mantid scouts followed shortly after. Whether they've had this attack planned or they're just capitalizing on the opportunity, I couldn't say. Maybe they're running away from whatever caused the crack in the first place.
