Lucan Foxblood first appearance was in World of Warcraft:Stormrage where it's said that Lucan is the third cartographer to His Majesty King Varian Wrynn and a citizen of Stormwind City. When the Emerald Nightmare began spreading and claimed it's first victims in Stormwind, Lucan found himself drawn towards something which he didn't quite understand, and he couldn't tell why either. During his seemingly endless trip, he found himself loosing the connection to reality now and then. He was walking day and night, afraid that if he ever lay down to sleep, he wouldn't wake up again. After weeks of his strange trip to the unknown, he found himself drawn to the city of Auberdine where he, after finding more victims of the Nightmare, met Tyrande Whisperwind and Broll Bearmantle. It was shortly after their meeting that they found out that Lucan had some unlikly talents.
