Lyar Ripfizzle was a rival of Trade Prince Klaxz Boompowder. He made a fortune by selling pig-iron blades to the Gurubashi.
Ripfizzle attended Rikter Hogsnozzle's funeral and, after exchanging scathing words with Klaxz, made a donation of mediocre burial gifts to the deceased. The unimpressed Klaxz gave similar gifts to the dead but also included a galleon, deeply impressing Ripfizzle and other funeral attendees (who were unaware that the coin was a fake).
After the Uninvited Guest caused Klaxz to hand away all of his fortune and belongings, the prince gave his house to Ripfizzle.[1]
