Magister Varenthas is a blood elf quest giver located at Vengeance Landing in the Howling Fjord.
Magister Varenthas becomes part of the reformed Tirisgarde during the Burning Legion's third invasion of Azeroth. He can be found in the Hall of the Guardian in Dalaran. He can refund your artifact power on your weapon.

What's the story with Old Fillmaff over there?
Who? Fillmaff? That old relic? He's been an archivist here at Dalaran for decades. I remember him back from my student days, Always puttering around the stacks. He could find anything.
Then came the Third War, when Arthas sacked the city. Fillmaff went missing, along with countless others - just another of the numberless dead. Nobody thought anything of it.

Years passed, and we'd relocated the entire city to Icecrown for the Northrend campaign.
One day - out of the blue - Old Fillmaff walks into the Violet Tower. Just strolls in! Doesn't say a word. He starts filing books and organizing the folios, like nothing had happened. He's been back at it ever since.
<Varenthas leans close to you and whispers>
I'm not sure he knows he's dead.

[10-45] The Only Way to Travel, he appears from a portal from Borean Tundra rather than Howling Fjord, where he was last seen.
- It is, of course, possible that he had traveled to Borean Tundra in the meantime.
