Mareela[1] was one of the night elfhuntresses from Astranaar who arrived to reinforce Delaryn Summermoon's forces in the battle near the Falfarren River during the War of the Thorns.[2] After the Falfarren was lost to the Horde, Delaryn enacted a plan to plant an ambush by placing night elf corpses in Astranaar and mask their wounds to make them appear as if they had been killed by Horde rogues. Mareela protested that the corpses were the kaldorei's friends and families and that they had already given everything, but Delaryn insisted, and the soldiers under her command reluctantly obeyed.[1]
