Mavrana Mooncrest was a Grand Magistrix[1] and ruling princess[2] of Suramar prior to the War of the Ancients. She owned a magical crown which conveyed large amounts of arcane power and allowed her to achieve almost unlimited mastery of magic. The crown's power stemmed from the Jewels of Aellis which adorned it.[3]
Mavrana's own fate is not stated. During the War of the Ancients, her crown was stolen by rival nobles who removed and sold its jewels. The crown was later recovered and is now displayed in the Midnight Court.[3] During the third invasion of the Burning Legion, adventurers working with the Reliquary recovered the Jewels of Aellis from around Suramar, but found that they had been drained of the power they once held.[4]
