Patch changes
Patch 1.15 (2004-05-10): To purchase from a neutral shop or Mercenary Camp, a valid unit or Hero must now be within 45 distance units, down from 60 distance units.
Patch 1.03 (2002-10-09): Mercenaries are now more accurately priced in general, which in most cases amounts to price decreases.
Campaign
Ice Trolls and Ogres from mercenary camps were used by Arthas Menethil to burn down his own ships to prevent them from returning to Lordaeron. After the deed was done, Arthas framed the mercenaries for destroying the ships and killed them with the rest of the humans for destroying their only way off Northrend, much to Muradin's disgust.[1]
