Mithrios, Bronzebeard's Legacy TCG

Mithrios, Bronzebeard's Legacy in the TCG.

Mithrios, Bronzebeard's Legacy drops from the Lich King in the 25-man version of Icecrown Citadel.

History[]

500 years ago, the Frostborn found Mina Stormsmith half-dead in the snow, though she was calling out the name "Mithrios" in her delirium. The frost dwarves nursed her back to health, and she learned their ways. After she'd spent a full year and a half with them, she told them she finally had the strength to return to Dun Morogh and face her family. She told them the chronicle of her brother's life, so they would know him too. Then, the Frostborn gave her a gift: a mace, forged from the broken pieces of the axe she'd had with her and that she had broken in Ulduar fighting iron dwarves. She followed their tradition and named the mace after the person she carried it for: Mithrios Stormsmith, her lost brother. Mithrios then stayed in the Bronzebeard clan for years to come until it ended up with Muradin Bronzebeard,[1] who used it in many conflicts,[2] but he apparently lost it in Northrend.

Following the war against the Jailer, the weapon was found by a Frostborn patrol after a skirmish with the Scourge near Icecrown. The frost dwarves discovered runes on it that linked the weapon to the earthen of Northrend and to the ancestors of Muradin. As the Frostborn were repairing the weapon, King Velog Icebellow wrote to his old friend to come to visit them and tell the story of the weapon. Muradin, however, had no idea what weapon Velog was referring to, so he called his brothers, Brann and Magni, to come with him.[3]

When Muradin and his brothers arrived to Frosthold, Velog showed Muradin the mace. He immediately recognized it and thought it gone forever.[1] Velog showed Muradin how to find the oldest runes, and the Bronzebeard thane took it back with him, and added new runes onto it.[2]

Description[]

Bronzebeards left their own marks on Mithrios, etching runes into the weapon's metal head:

  • Mina's runes read: "FOR KHAZ MODAN. FOR AILSA BRONZEBEARD—FOR MITHRIOS STORMSMITH." There are also names of their children.
  • Muradin's runes originally read: "FOR THE ALLIANCE AND FOR KHAZ MODAN." After reuniting with the weapon, Muradin then added new runes: "FOR FROSTHOLD. FOR MY BROTHERS: MAGNI, BRANN, AND VELOG."[2]
