- — TCG: Molten Giants
Molten Giants are a type of fiery and molten mountain giants found in the Molten Core. Molten giants are huge fiery creatures that reside in the darkest hottest places of Azeroth and the Firelands of the Elemental Plane[citation needed] . Their skin is a deep red, and they are affiliated with fire elementals, which often coexist with them. Their largest numbers can currently be found in Molten Core.
First two mobs in the instance. These always come in pairs, and are impossible to pull alone. As you progress through the Molten Core, Molten Giants will gradually be replaced with Molten Destroyers, starting with one Destroyer and one Giant, and eventually two Destroyers. The easiest way to deal with them is to put a tank on each and separate them so their stomps do not hurt the same group. Finish one then the other.
This mob spawns in pairs. The giants are very tough beasts with high HP.
Abilities[]
- Normally hits a tank for 600 - 800 damage.
- Knock Away — Inflicts normal damage plus 54 to an enemy and knocks it back.
- Smash — Smashes the ground, inflicting 1458 to 1782 damage to nearby enemies.
Strategy[]
Each giant has a tank with one or two healers each to keep them up through the stomps. Hunters can use their instant shots to pull the giants to each tank. The giants are then kept separated and away from the main raid. DPS begins after 2 to 3 sunders, focusing first on giants and then destroyers.
Note to tank: Since the Knockback is threat reducing, you might lose aggro on the giant. So once you tank the giant, do not use the taunt. Just as the giant hit you with a knockback, taunt him back, and build the threat up again. Also, tanking him with your back to a wall is helpful, since the knockback won't knock you out of melee range.
Notes[]
The main focus of the giants in the zone seems to be to slow players down, and pace the speed at which the zone is cleared. They are the high hp meat-and-potatoes of the initial clear.
