For the horse, see Nightsong (horse).

"Nightsong" is a recurring Darnassian song introduced in Cataclysm and written by Neal Acree.[1] It typically plays during battles and events involving the night elves. In Legion it notably plays during the cinematic where Ysera dies.[2]

Alliance players can acquire Inv misc punchcards yellow [Music Roll: Night Song] for their Garrison Jukebox.

Trivia[]

  • According to the composer, Neal Acree, "Nightsong" almost did not make it into the game. He considered it too song-like for in-game music, but in the end submitted it anyway.[1]
  • Parts of "Nightsong" are used in Ardenweald as a leitmotif associated with Ysera.

When I wrote it, I was convinced that its song-like structure made it wrong for WoW in-game music and almost didn't submit it. Same thing with the song version of the Anduin theme. Both wrote themselves and I didn't have much say in the matter.”
