Northrend proficiency, formerly known as Grand Master, is the third stage of a profession learned at the appropriate profession trainer when a character has reached at least level 58. It unlocks the use and development of profession related skills in Northrend related content. Not counting racial or other bonuses, it allows skill ups to a maximum of 75 points.
Profession proficiency levels fall into nine groups to learn and execute recipes organized by expansion: Classic, Outland (), Northrend (), Cataclysm (), Pandaria (), Draenor (), Legion (), Battle for Azeroth () and Shadowlands ().
- Prior to the expansion Battle for Azeroth, the Grand Master proficiency could be learned as early as level 55 (gathering) or 65 (non-gathering) and 350 skill and allowed progression gain up to a maximum of 450 points, not counting any racial or any other bonuses.
- With only the Wrath of the Lich King expansion purchased, no skill or profession can go beyond the Northrend proficiency level.
- Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): Each expansion now has a separate profession skill bar, with smaller caps for each expansion, instead of one gigantic profession skill bar for all expansions put together.
