Obsidia is a black dragon that flies over the Vortex Summit in the Blade's Edge Mountains of Outland. She also appears in Obsidian Lair in Twilight Highlands as a level 85 elite mob. She was revealed to be one of the last mature and breeding black dragons, but was marked for extermination by the red dragonflight and was killed.[1]

Obsidia in Outland
She can be called down to fight as part of the Ogri'la series of quests, or at any time by opening Obsidia's Egg at Obsidia's Perch (requires 35 Apexis Shards. When summoned, she lands and attacks the party. Be very careful around Obsidia - if she detects you she will spit a fireball at you. (~3000 damage)
Attacks and abilities[]
- Basic Melee: She doesn't hit hard at all. 600 on a tank, 1500 on cloth, but she swings slowly.
- Hellfire: Stands still, channeling, 400 fire damage a tick.
- Fire Breath: 500 to tank.
- Bellowing Roar: AoE fear.
Strategy[]
A balanced 5-man party should have no trouble with Obsidia. Although she has a fair amount of health and a range of abilities, her damage output is low, even when the tank is feared.

Obsidia drops a variety of items, usually including a random rare item, and also an 
[Obsidia Scale].

Attacks and abilities[]
- Flame Breath: Inflicts Fire damage to enemies in a cone in front of the caster.
- Lava Pool: Causing pools of lava to spout from beneath the cave's surface. The Lava Pool deals Fire damage every 2 sec to enemies in the pool.
- Lava Spout: Causes a vent of flame to erupt, spouting a pool of lava.
- Summon Whelps: Summons whelps from the ledges to attack enemies below.
