Okir is a centaur of Clan Shikaar who serves as the deaf Sansok Khan's interpreter in the Ohn'ahran Plains. He is always by his khan's side, acting as her speaker for those not versed in her signs and translating others' speech into sign language for her benefit. Okir is first seen alongside Sansok at Timberstep Outpost before accompanying her to Maruukai.[1] During the battle in the Storm Scar, he accompanies his khan at the southern edge of the battlefield.

Gossip[]

Please direct your attention to my khan.
Gossip Why do you speak for Sansok Khan?
My khan is deaf, communicating mainly through a sign language that is shared amongst the centaur. I am but her voice, interpreting for her.
While most members of our clan can speak with her without my aid, there are still many who cannot. My role is to enable communication between her and others. It is the highest honor.
My words are hers. Except these ones. Please direct your attention back to her.
Gossip What does Basran do for Sansok Khan?
Ah, Basran. He is a very good bakar, trained specifically to be Sansok Khan's ears. He alerts her for many sounds in different ways, working as an extension of her senses.
While on a hunt, Basran supports Sansok Khan by signaling the direction and intensity of different environmental cues to her. He also looks out for anything that needs her attention, from a clanmate's shout to the drumming of hooves to the whistle of an approaching storm.
Sansok Khan trains her hearing dogs herself, and has done so since a very young age. In fact, Basran is her third bakar, the son of her first!

Notes[]

  • During N [62-65] Renewal of Vows, the player can suggest that Sansok should offer Okir as her ceremonial gift to Merithra. Sansok (or possibly Okir speaking for himself) replies "Absolutely not".
