Overlord Runthak was an orc serving the Horde. When the Horde split between the Darkspear Rebellion and the True Horde, Runthak joined the True Horde and was killed during the Siege of Orgrimmar.

History

In game.

Runthak could originally be found near the inn in the Valley of Strength of Orgrimmar. When Varok Saurfang left to Northrend, Runthak replaced him in announcing the death of Nefarian.

After the betrayal of Varimathras and Putress, Sylvanas and Forsaken refugees had to escape to Orgrimmar. During that time Runthak was seen calming Orgrimmar's citizens, assuring them that Warchief Thrall would handle things.

During the Siege of Orgrimmar, he's found in the Drag alongside several Hellscream Demolishers waiting to attack anyone that approaches. He was killed by the Alliance and the Horde rebels.

• Runthak is voiced by Alan Shearman in Patch 5.4.
• Runthak was previously shown as loyal to Thrall, so his switch to the true Horde is unexplained.
• Overlord Runthak appears as a neutral legendary minion in the 2021 Core Set of Hearthstone. His flavor text reads: "Knows how to lift everyone up while tearing every enemy down."
