This article lists all undocumented changes for patch 8.1.5. All documented changes should be listed on the main article.
General[]
- DirectX 12 support has been extended for Windows 7 users.[1] World of Warcraft is the first game to add support for DirectX 12 on Windows 7.[2][3]
- DirectX 11 support has been extended with multi-threaded rendering while the old DirectX 11 single-threaded rendering support is now named "DirectX 11 Legacy".[2]
Classes[]
Hunter[]
- Spirit Beast's [Spirit Mend], Spirit Shock, and [Spirit Walk] icons were changed.
- Tenacity pet's [Survival of the Fittest] icon was changed (but icon for same ability for [Lone Wolf] Marksmanship hunter was not).
- [Tar Trap] received a new animation, ground effect and sound.[4]
Quests[]
- [50WQ] Shell Game: Now displays a bright indicator when a match is made.
- Azerite Mining: Azerite nodes can no longer be double-tapped.
- [50WQ] Wild Flutterbies: Now requires a Vale Flutterby to be nearby.
NPCs[]
- Zidormi has been removed from the Violet Citadel in Dalaran (Northrend).
Creatures[]
- The male Zandalari troll model has received several unique animations such as sitting, swimming, jumping, many generic combat animations and more.
- The blood elf golden eyes now glow a little more.[4]
Mounts[]
- The [Spirit of Eche'ro] and the [Defiled Reins] can now fly.
- [Vicious War Riverbeast] now has a
/mountspecial
animation. - [Swift Shorestrider] model updated, re-adding the orange belly that was lost in 8.1.0.
Items[]
- Vendor version of [The Pigskin] was renamed to [The Swineskin] to distinguish it from the 2012-Feast of Winter Veil item.
- [Diamond of Sustenance] now grants 100 stat increase, up from 75. The tooltip wasn't updated to reflect this.
- [Kojo's Master Matching Set] has been removed from the Toy Box.[5]
- [Ultimate Battle-Training Stone] now binds to account instead of binding on pickup.
World environment[]
- All portals in Dalaran (Broken Isles), including the ones in the Chamber of the Guardian, other than Stormwind, Orgrimmar, and the class halls, have been removed.
- All portals in Stormshield / Warspear have been removed, with the exception of those to Stormwind, Orgrimmar, Lion's Watch, and Vol'mar.
- The Dalaran and Shattrath portals in Shrine of Seven Stars / Shrine of Two Moons have been removed.
- The portal to Boralus now deposits the player right in front of the doorway of the Sanctum of the Sages, instead of in the back of the room near the book stand.
- The portals to Orgrimmar now deposits the player to the portal room, instead of the Cleft of Shadow.
- The portals to Stormwind now deposits the player to the portal room since it replaced the old Wizard's Sanctum room.
- Sunfury Spire in Silvermoon City now has a portal to Orgrimmar.
Bug fixes[]
- Battle of Dazar'alor boss kills in the Guild News tab now display the boss model (previously showed none at all).
- Raid markers in chat, e.g.
{star}
, now display correctly in the Guild & Communities interface. - Antialiasing is no longer applied to the User interface. This fixes performance issues with the Azerite interface, Transmogrification, and other interfaces.[4]
User Interface[]
- Twitter integration
- The character limit was increased from 140 to 280 characters.[4]
- Map & Quest Log
- The Northrend map has been updated from its previous patch 3.2.0 map.
- The Outland map has been updated from its previous original map.
- The Faction Assault icons were updated from basic icons (Horde) to include swords.
- The Adventure Guide boss icons on instance maps now show a red x and grey out once defeated.
- Portrait
- Copy Character Name added under "Other Options" in the right-click tooltip.
- Flight map
- Achievements
- Wintergrasp sub-category is now categorized under Player vs. Player (previously Expansion Features).
- Shop
- Added new Toys section.
- System
- Window size options are now listed in descending order (previously ascending).
