“I have watched the other races... I have seen their squabbling, their ruthlessness. Their wars do nothing but scar the land, and drive the wild things to extinction. No, they cannot be trusted. Only beasts are above deceit.”

— Rexxar

Rexxar, Champion of the Horde, is a half-ogre, half-orc beastmaster[2] of the Mok'Nathal clan, and may be one of the few from the clan. He was instrumental in aiding the Horde during the founding of Durotar, and saved the city of Orgrimmar from Admiral Proudmoore. Due to his mixed lineage, he is a towering and massively muscled warrior, and he wields his two huge axes with tremendous skill and ferocity. Rexxar is always seen with his loyal bear companion Misha.

In the period between the founding of Durotar and the reopening of the Dark Portal, Rexxar wandered the wilds of Kalimdor, his path running from the Stonetalon Mountains through Desolace to Feralas. During the Burning Crusade, he ventured to Thunderlord Stronghold in the Blade's Edge Mountains of Outland, protecting the settlement against ogres and gronn while trying to reconnect with his people. He returned to Azeroth during the Cataclysm, and later joined the hunters of the Unseen Path during the last war with the Burning Legion. After the Legion was defeated, Rexxar served on the front lines in Kul Tiras, and later answered Varok Saurfang's call to arms in the uprising that deposed Warchief Sylvanas Windrunner.

The wars[]

Rexxar was one of the Horde warriors, a fruit from the union between orcs and ogres.[3] Rexxar was originally part of the pacifist mok'nathal, based on Draenor in Gorgrond, under the watchful guard of his father, Leoroxx. Unwelcome by both the full-blooded orcs and ogres in the area, the Mok'Nathal were secular and isolationist, wishing little else but to be left to their own devices. But their pacifist ways gave him no reason to stay, and in addition, Rexxar believed the Horde could help the mok'nathal find water and food. However, in time Rexxar would learn the Horde's purpose was not noble.[4]

After the fall of Shattrath City and the draenei, Warchief Blackhand considered annihilating the mok'nathal but stayed his hand. Rexxar convinced Blackhand to spare his people.[4] Rexxar left through the Dark Portal during the First War. The beastmaster was accompanied by a large black wolf, Haratha, his loyal companion.[2] Rexxar fought in several battles, including the last one in the Black Morass.[5]

Warsong Rexxar full

Rexxar and the Warsong guarding the Dark Portal during the Invasion of Draenor.

After the Horde's defeat in the Second War, Rexxar briefly returned to Draenor. When Ner'zhul launched his own invasion of Azeroth to retrieve certain artifacts, Rexxar was stationed with Grom Hellscream and the Warsong clan on the Azerothian side of the Dark Portal. He remained in the Horde's service until just after the destruction of Draenor and the second destruction of the Dark Portal. Rexxar grew sickened by the senseless killing that the orcish race seemed to favor, and particularly the constant betrayals — first by Gul'dan and then by Ner'zhul. His resolve was further weakened when Haratha was drained of its life essences by an orcish warlock when the wolf lept in front of the warlock's spell to protect his master. Rexxar slew the warlock but had lost his companion. He followed Grom Hellscream and his band of survivors through the Dark Portal to Azeroth, and when discussions started on what to do next Rexxar proposed to live a peaceful life in a small piece of land where the Alliance would never find them. Grom stated that orcs are supposed to conquer, and he was never willing to leave the Alliance in peace. Enraged, Rexxar declared that he would only trust beasts from thereon out, and left the Horde to wander the world on which he was now stranded.[6]

Through his journeys in the wilderness of Feralas, he came to find a small cub next to its dead mother at the Ruins of Ravenwind. Seeing as they both were alone, Rexxar took the cub with him and named her Misha.[7] Together, they traveled to Kalimdor, where they roamed the Barrens away from civilization. But his journeys had seen nothing but wars amongst the so-called "civilized" creatures.

Upon one of his journeys, however, he encountered Mogrin, an orc warrior who came under attack by a group of quilboars. Rexxar tried to help the orc, but the quilboar struck a fatal blow, and the warrior fell. In his last wish, Mogrin asked Rexxar to deliver a message to Thrall, the orc Warchief, in the city of Orgrimmar and to keep Mogrin's death an honorable one. Rexxar agreed and made the journey to Orgrimmar.

When he arrived, he found Thrall and delivered the message, and Thrall invited him to stay a while, mentioning that this land was as much Rexxar's as it was his own. Insisting to earn his keep, Rexxar volunteered to help out around the city. He visited Drek'Thar, Nazgrel, and Gazlowe, who commissioned him to retrieve Inv misc herb 04 [Shimmerweed] from Thunder Ridge, kill the harpy queen Bloodfeather, and collapse the Kobold Mining Columns, respectively. He also received the help of Rokhan.

He also encountered on his journeys a jovial brewmaster from the Wandering Isle named Chen Stormstout and killed a powerful kobold named Noggrin Onetooth. He helped an orc shaman named Morg Wolfsong regain his honor by killing the orc warlocks who had killed his party.

After he had helped out Thrall's friends, Rexxar was sent to Gar'thok's outpost where the orc surveyed the coast for activity. Rexxar fought his way to the observatory nearby and found a suspicious amount of human activity along the coast. Rexxar reported his findings to Thrall, who then sent Nazgrel with Rexxar back to Gar'thok's outpost.

Rexxar made a short detour to meet Drek'Thar at Thunder Ridge where the far seer found the thunder lizards driven mad. Upon further investigation, they found a human lumber mill where many trees had been harvested. Rexxar was ready to destroy the mill, but Drek'Thar forbade it, citing a non-aggression treaty with the humans. Rexxar was forced to put the maddened thunder lizards down before they caused any more harm.

Upon arrival at Gar'thok's outpost, Nazgrel and Rexxar found it razed by the humans, and so followed the trail of blood back to a human camp on the coast. Immediately hostile, Rexxar threw all treaties aside and destroyed the camp and then returned to report to Thrall.

Thrall was amazed at the audacity of these humans and questioned Jaina's involvement. Rokhan was worried, however, that the humans may strike at the Echo Isles where his people had settled. Rexxar, Rokhan, and their allies traveled by zeppelin to the Echo Isles where they found that the Darkspear tribe had already come under attack.

Spirit Wyvern Rexxar

Rexxar as a Spirit Wyvern.

Their leader, Vol'jin, briefly transformed Rexxar, Chen, and Rokhan into spirit wyverns so that they could assist the bat riders in destroying the battleships assaulting the coastal villages. Upon return, Vol'jin sent Rexxar to light signal pyres telling the trolls to head for the mainland. These were guarded by the lord of the sea giants known as the Sea King.

Rexxar returned to Thrall, where the Warchief had received a summons to a peace summit with Jaina, but Rexxar didn't trust the humans and volunteered to go in his place. When he arrived at the summit, he found an ambush waiting and no sight of Jaina.

Thrall suspected that deceit was afoot and prepared a letter for Jaina in the hopes of mending the problem, then sent Rexxar to meet with her on Theramore Island. Rexxar and his party asked Samuro, a blademaster, to plant explosives to distract the guards of the human coastal settlement on Dustwallow Marsh long enough for Rexxar to slip by. However, Samuro remembered his previous mission to eliminate an enraged wildkin named Bloodbeak who was hiding nearby, and thus had to complete it before going for the humans. Rexxar then met with Jaina, who denied any knowledge of this force and condemned any attack on Thrall. She demanded to see these soldiers for herself.

Rexxar brought Jaina back to the camp only to find it destroyed by the naga. Rexxar and Jaina fought through the force of snake-people looking for any survivors. After finally defeating the naga, led by the naga sea witch Lady Darkscale and her guard Scilla Murkshadow, they found a single human footman dying who said that the "Admiral" would be pleased to see Jaina safe.

Rexxar was confused at Jaina's horror but trusted her enough to follow her back to Theramore quickly. Upon arriving, however, a fleet of ships arrived and Jaina's father, Daelin Proudmoore, arrived. The moment he saw Rexxar, he immediately ordered his capture, despite Jaina's pleas. Rexxar and his friends fled the city, fighting through the naval guards, and returned to the Darkspear village informing Vol'jin what had passed.

Rexxar's forces fought around Vol'jin's village to gain experience for the coming battle. He entered the Tomb of the Ancients and killed the skeleton king, Lord Talendar, felled the Eldritch Deathlord in the shallows of the ocean, laid to rest the Revenant of Burning Souls in the Magistrate's Temple and in the Den of the Lost, ended an Ancient Wendigo's reign over his icy cavern. Rexxar's forces even found a minor portal to an area of Outland - the Outland Arena - and fought the demon lords Destroyer Zardikar, Sinstralis of the Pain, and Talnivarr the Sleeper to obtain the powerful tomes they held. Finally, he released the orc Mathogg from a prison after killing his jailor, Khan Gragtor.

Vol'jin made it out to inform Thrall of the imminent invasion and suggested that Rexxar go and enlist the aid of the tauren tribes along the mesas of the land of Mulgore to aid them in the coming battle. Rexxar traveled to Mulgore to meet with Cairne Bloodhoof, and when he arrived, Cairne told him to return to Thrall and tell him that he had died of a broken heart. His second, Tagar, explained that Cairne's son, Baine Bloodhoof, had been kidnapped by centaurs led by Khiragg and that Cairne had since grown depressed and lethargic. Rexxar led an expedition to rescue Baine Bloodhoof with the help of the tauren spirit walker leader, Bovan Windtotem. Upon returning, Cairne was re-energized and agreed to pledge his people to the Horde and to personally return with Rexxar.

Old Hatreds - Stonemaul - Reforged

Rexxar challenges Warlord Kor'gall to battle for leadership over the Stonemaul clan.

When they returned to the Darkspear village, Vol'jin showed them a tired ogre who had come from Dustwallow Marsh with news that a new warlord had taken over the Stonemaul clan of ogres, and that his cruelty and brutality were leading the ogres to ruin. Vol'jin and Rexxar agreed that this was an excellent opportunity to sway the ogres onto their side. Rexxar traveled to Dustwallow Marsh and found the Stonemaul clan. Though they initially rejected Rexxar because of his mixed blood, he proved himself by running a gauntlet and returning alive. Warlord Kor'gall was impressed and allowed Rexxar to join the clan.

Thrall and Rexxar

Rexxar used his new position to ask the ogres for assistance. Kor'gall mockingly reminded him that they were no longer friends to the orcs. Rexxar was forced to fight Kor'gall for the leadership of the clan. Kor'gall proved to be a powerful foe, and Rexxar had to rely heavily on his beast friends to defeat him. Finally, Kor'gall fell and Rexxar assumed the position of chieftain. He then led the Stonemaul ogres back to Tidefury Cove where Thrall was assembling the Horde. Thrall named Rexxar Champion of the Horde and gave him the honor of leading the Horde against Proudmoore's forces. After a difficult battle, they razed Proudmoore's stronghold and sent the Admiral into a retreat. Yet, Thrall knew that Proudmoore would not stop there.

The Horde pursued Proudmoore back to the shores of Theramore Island. Thrall sent in his foot soldiers to keep Proudmoore's forces at bay while Rexxar and his few companions wove through the battle to face off against Proudmoore and his most loyal retainers. In the end, Proudmoore was killed and Rexxar emerged victorious. With Proudmoore's defeat, the battleground to a halt and Jaina collapsed onto the body of her father. Rexxar attempted to comfort Jaina by telling her that, above all else, her father was a proud warrior and should be remembered as such. Rexxar, Thrall, and the rest of the Horde then proceeded to withdraw from Theramore.

Thrall invited Rexxar to return to Durotar with him, but Rexxar told him that his place was still in the wild but said that he would always be part of the Horde and that he would always be there when he was needed. He named the ogre Mok'Morokk as the new leader of the Stonemaul clan, a decision he would later come to regret,[8] and disappeared into the barren wilderness.

Rexxar alongside his bear, Misha, found an old orc who was attacked by the Burning Blade clan. He brought the orc to Thrall in Orgrimmar to seek medical aid for Byrok. Byrok then told Thrall about the Burning Blade clan and Rexxar was peripherally involved in the subsequent altercation between Durotar and Theramore; he defended Jaina Proudmoore, citing her loyalty to Thrall, even against her own father. Rexxar swiftly returned to the wilds.

Unfortunately, the Stonemauls were recently assailed by the black dragonflight and forced from their home. To make matters worse, Mok'Morokk was revealed as a selfish tyrant and was eventually usurped by another ogre named Tharg with the help of an ogre-mage named Draz'Zilb. Mok'Morokk fled Brackenwall.

Rexxar himself, patrolling Desolace and Feralas with Misha at his side, assisted heroes of the Horde in destroying Onyxia (which became non-canon as per World of Warcraft: The Comic).

Since the re-opening of the Dark Portal, the Mok'Nathal warrior now resides in Thunderlord Stronghold in the Blade's Edge Mountains of Outland, protecting the base from the beasts and monstrosities of Blade's Edge. The orc Rokaro now carries out Rexxar's duties as Champion of the Horde on Azeroth, and is located at Shadowprey Village in Desolace.

Rexxar wishes to find more of his people and perhaps one day make peace with his father, Leoroxx, who remains embittered about Rexxar's decision to join the Horde. When he entered the Mountains, Rexxar was attacked by Bladespire ogres who captured his wyvern Leokk. He also met and befriended Baron Sablemane, though he does not know that Sabellian is a black dragon.

Eventually, Garm Wolfbrother revealed the location of the Mok'Nathal clan and with the help of the adventurers, a friend in disguise and his companions, he helped his clan by defeating the Bloodmaul ogres and their gronn master. He also managed to have Leokk freed and Rexxar went and killed Goc.

Rexxar and Misha Highmountain

Rexxar's camp in Highmountain.

The Unseen Path, the most widely membered hunter organization on Azeroth, considers Rexxar one of the greatest hunters of his time. While he'd heard of the order and never doubted that the group is respectable, he considered them to be a bit dull for his tastes, and has never really been eager to aid them.[9]

While camping in Highmountain with Misha, which was just a way north of the Unseen Path's headquarters, Rexxar was approached by the group's new Huntmaster seeking to recruit him. Rexxar gave the hunter a challenge: survive the night in the wilds much like he himself does, for he believed that the Unseen Path did too much watching and waiting without enough action, and he wanted to be proven wrong.[10] When morning came and the hunter approached Rexxar once more, Rexxar agreed to join the organization and to send a message that they can endure, even in the face of the Burning Legion.[11]

When a Horde player reaches Prestige Rank 2, Rexxar and Misha can be found in the Undercity alongside other notable leaders of the Horde. During H [10-45] A Royal Audience, they are present at the ceremony hosted by Warchief Sylvanas Windrunner that congratulates the character for their battles against the Alliance, following their receiving of the Achievement pvp h 14 [High Warlord's Medal of Valor] from the Warchief, as well as an artifact appearance.

Battle for Azeroth[]

Battle for Azeroth This section concerns content related to Battle for Azeroth.

Rexxar is present at Warfang Hold in Stormsong Valley. He explains that — though he had found kinship with the Unseen Path — when the horns of war sounded and he heard Jaina had returned, he answered the call. Though he respected her difficult decision with Daelin, Rexxar says now that Jaina has gone too far and killed too many. To fulfill his promise to Thrall to protect the Horde he loves, Rexxar will fight until either the war ends or he does.

The Kul Tirans attacked the Horde and Rexxar participated in Warfang Hold's defense, though his wolf companion Huelo was gravely injured and had to be put out of his misery.[12] After Warfang Hold was retaken, Rexxar spoke of how over the years and many wars he has learned that those who stand alone fall. He vowed to stand together as one with the Horde adventurer.[13]

Later, Rexxar contacted Nathanos Blightcaller about a Kul Tiran tidesage who could help them locate the corpse of Marshal M. Valentine, who was lost at sea during the Second War.[14] He, the adventurer, and Lilian Voss confronted Thomas Zelling who was sick and lay away from his family so as not to upset the children when he died of disease. Rexxar promised to ensure Zelling's family's safety if Zelling helped them,[15] but advised against Zelling becoming a Forsaken because his family would not accept him. Against Rexxar's judgment, Lilian called on a Val'kyr to raise Zelling.[16] As Zelling ran off to his family Rexxar knew what was going to happen and left, not wanting to see it.[17]

Rexxar led Horde adventurers in attacking the Shrine of the Storm in order to claim the Tide Pearl, an artifact that he believed would make the Horde fleet indestructible.[18]

Tides of Vengeance[]

Usha, Rexxar, Rokhan Faction Assaults

With Rokhan and Usha Eyegouge.

Rexxar and Zelling assaulted the Norwington Estate, where the Alliance had been storing Azerite and Azerite weapons that it obtained after the defeat of the traitorous Ashvane Company.[19] The Alliance forces at the estate were led by Lieutenant Cole, who recognized Rexxar as Daelin Proudmoore's killer and swore to bring him to justice. When Rexxar told Cole to challenge him with honor, Cole responded that he knew all about Rexxar's "honor" and attacked from within an Azerite war machine instead.[20] Cole died in the end, but after his machine was destroyed he got out to fight hand to hand. Rexxar admitted afterward that he did at least die with honor.[21] After retrieving the Azerite and weapons, and fighting off the remaining Alliance, Rexxar prepared to leave when Zelling stopped him to ask about the fate of his family. Rexxar was hesitant at first but then assured Zelling that, as per their promise, they were safe: Zelling's wife had bought a home in Arom's Stand, and his children were well fed. After Zelling thanked Rexxar, as well as the absent Lilian, for their help, Rexxar reminded Zelling that Kul Tiras was no longer friendly territory for him and told him to stay safe.[22]

The Horde sought to break out Priscilla Ashvane, a Kul Tiran traitor who attempted a coup against the Proudmoores, from her imprisonment in Tol Dagor. Rexxar and Arcanist Valtrois were the team assigned to do so, and Valtrois expressed unease against doing what one was told against their better judgment while Rexxar believed one guilty human being free would be worth the lives spared.[23] Using Valtrois's illusion magic, they infiltrated Tol Dagor with her and an adventurer disguised as guards and Rexxar as their prisoner. Once Ashvane was with them, they caused a prison riot by freeing her men and then collapsed the sewer exit with bombs to cover their escape. As Ashvane left to speak to Sylvanas, Rexxar and Valtrois agreed that things had become perilous and the Horde was at a crossroads once again.[24]

During the Faction Assault on Stormsong Valley, Rexxar helped defend Warfang Hold against the Alliance alongside Usha Eyegouge and his old friend Rokhan.[25]

When Baine was arrested and Zelling was killed for their parts in freeing Derek Proudmoore from Horde captivity, Rexxar declared that there were others who must hear of what Sylvanas had done and that they would.

As Sylvanas Windrunner and Varok Saurfang called their loyalists for battle, Rexxar answered Saurfang's call.[26] Following Saurfang's death and Sylvanas's betrayal of the Horde, Rexxar was among the Horde heroes who attended Saurfang's funeral.[27]

Baine, Rexxar, Rokhan, and Chen

Rexxar and Misha reunited with Baine, Rokhan, and Chen within Toghusuq Village.

Rexxar was surprised, but pleased, that Thrall had invited the mok'nathal to the Kosh'harg festival held on Azeroth at Razor Hill and that Leoroxx had agreed to come. Meanwhile Rokaro, looked forward to catching up with Rexxar during the festival. During the feast celebrating orc champions for completing the om'gora, father and son reconnected.[29][30]

Sometime later, he received word from Baine Bloodhoof of the death of Bovan Windtotem and subsequently traveled to the Ohn'ahran Plains within the Dragon Isles to meet with him. After arriving at Toghusuq Village, he also reunited with Rokhan and Chen Stormstout, who had also traveled to the village after hearing of their old friend's passing. After the trio decided to help with the restoration of the village, Rexxar reflected on that journey through Mulgore that led to them saving Baine and mentioned that Cairne declared how they had given him new life after safely delivering Baine back to him. As he reminisced, he declared that it was truly Bovan who brought Cairne that new life, as even with his own keen eyes they could not discover Baine's whereabouts without Bovan's vision. He then revealed that he had learned from the spiritwalkers that where the bones go after one passes means very little, that what truly matters is the last memory we make, and where goodbyes are shared. Thus he admitted he had come to the village for Baine and to make that last memory for himself.

Gossip What brings you to this conflict, Rexxar?

I had found kinship with other hunters in the Unseen Path. We fought to defend a broken land.

But now, the horn of war is sounded once again.

When I heard she had returned... I had to answer the call.

Gossip "She"? Who do you mean?

Jaina Proudmoore.

She once made a choice to spare us from her father's tyranny. I respected that decision, and how difficult it was.

But she could not forgive what Hellscream did to Theramore. She turned her hatred against all the horde.

She went too far. Killed too many. Her quest for vengeance must be ended.

Gossip You will fight Jaina Proudmoore?

Her. The Kul Tirans. The whole Alliance, If I must.

I love the Horde. I made a promise to Thrall that I would defend it.

No matter who began this war, I will fight until it ends... or I do.

I learned something from the tauren spiritwalkers like Bovan. They said where the bones go after we pass on means little. What matters is the last memory we make. Where we say goodbye.

I am here for Baine... but I am also here to make that memory for myself.

  • Rexxar is the default hero (player character) for the hunter class in Hearthstone. Although he has always been depicted in other media as a melee fighter, wielding two axes, in Hearthstone he is depicted using a bow in order to make him better represent the iconic hunter player fantasy.[34] Rexxar's flavor text reads: "He only feels at home in wilderness with his beasts. Super secret: Misha is his favorite."
  • Winning 1,000 Ranked or Arena games as a hunter unlocks the alternate Wanderer Rexxar hero, which appears to be based on Rexxar's Battle for Azeroth appearance. Wanderer Rexxar's flavor text reads: "Rexxar used to be the best-rated tour guide in Kalimdor. He even had a traveling petting zoo!"
  • In the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion, the nine heroes of Warcraft have been raised as powerful death knights of the Lich King. When Rexxar's hunt came to a premature end, he was resurrected as Deathstalker Rexxar,[35] whose flavor text reads: "You were too slow, old friend. The hunt began long ago. And now... it will never end."
  • Rexxar appears as a legendary Fighter mercenary in the Mercenaries game mode.

In Heroes of the Storm[]

Heroes of the Storm This section concerns content related to Heroes of the Storm and is considered non-canon.

Rexxar, along with Misha, is a playable character in Heroes of the Storm. He is classified as a ranged Bruiser who throws axes from afar while Misha engages in melee combat.

Notes and trivia[]

  • It is said that Rexxar would measure the sharpness of his blades by killing a helboar with a single, swift strike.[36]
  • At some point, Rexxar visited Frostsaber Rock in Winterspring.[32]
    • Also in Winterspring in the past, Rexxar got injured, but was rescued by Huelo.[37]
  • Shortly before the battle between the Thirty-three and the Zandalari trolls at Shado-Pan Monastery, Vol'jin thought of Rexxar and wished that his mok'nathal friend could have been with him to help fight the Zandalari. Vol'jin reflected that Rexxar loved the Horde just as much as he did.[38]
  • Rexxar is described as a half-breed in some sources and a half-ogre half-orc (or half-orc half-ogre)[39] in others. He is also simply called a "half-ogre" or a "half-orc" at times.[40] Along with these descriptions, there are sources that imply that his mother was an orc.[41] His father is a half-ogre as well, though he has the model of a large orc.
  • Rexxar is called, in his own words, the "last son of the Mok'Nathal", sometimes "last of the Mok'Nathal". This could mean several things:
    • That he is the last of his clan (which has been proven false), or at least thought he was the last.
    • Or that he is the last of his kind on Azeroth.
  • In Legion, Rexxar rides a dread raven just like his alternate universe counterpart in Warlords of Draenor. It's unclear if this raven is also meant to be Nisha.
  • Rexxar's generic name when assigned as a bodyguard on the Broken Isles is Unseen Pathfinder. In Tiragarde Sound it is Horde Berserker. While accompanying players, he rides a black wolf. During the Stormsong Valley Faction Assaults, his generic name is Tauren Earthshaker.
  • Prior to The Burning Crusade, his model was just a regular orc with light brown skin.
    • Rexxar's model from The Burning Crusade through Legion was a retexture of a regular male orc. However, the sounds he made in combat were in fact borrowed from fel orcs.
    • Rexxar's model introduced in Battle for Azeroth uses Kul Tiran animations.
  • Rexxar's mask bears a striking resemblance to the character Darkwolf from the 1980s cult classic animated film Fire & Ice, though many players also consider it to look similar to the mask of Batman.
    • This is referenced in Heroes of the Storm, where one of Rexxar's poke quotes is: "You kids these days... The mask isn't supposed to be a bat, it's a wolf! And a dark one at that!"
  • Rexxar has gained a tremendous amount of health following Cataclysm (an amount further bolstered by Mists of Pandaria), and now boasts more health than any other character (or boss) in Outland.
  • In 2012, Dave Kosak mentioned that Blizzard wanted to do something cool with Rexxar in the future.[42] In a 2013 interview with Jesse Cox, Kosak revealed that they had originally planned to involve Rexxar in an event in Battlefield: Barrens in which he would plant a flag in the ground and players would defend him against waves of Kor'kron soldiers. However, they ultimately ran out of time before they could implement it.[43]
  • One of the realms of World of Warcraft is named after Rexxar.
  • Rexxar is voiced by Steve Blum in Warcraft III and Heroes of the Storm, and by Matthew Mercer in Hearthstone, Legion and Battle for Azeroth.
  • Rexxar approved patch 1.29.0 for Warcraft III.[44]
  • Unlike Rokhan and Usha Eyegouge, Rexxar doesn't use any mounts during H [10-50] Horde of Heroes, instead he will run in place of a ground mount and actually fly himself in place of a flying mount.
