Roanauk Icemist is the leader of the taunka in Northrend.
At the time of the war against the Lich King, a fissure into Azjol-Nerub opened near Icemist Village, and Scourge nerubians poured out. They killed most of the taunka and captured Roanauk. He was then imprisoned in the ruins of the capital by the undead under the orders of Under-King Anub'et'kan. Wrapped in foul sorcery, he was poked with sticks for a few weeks, until adventurers of the Horde freed him.[3] For their help, Roanauk accepted for the Icemist tribe and the Taunka'le Refugees to be inducted into the Horde.[4]

Notes and trivia[]
- During the Legion alpha, Roanauk appeared before Mayla Highmountain along with Baine Bloodhoof and Sunwalker Dezco to ask for help to battle the Burning Legion on the Broken Shore. This was scrapped before the official launch.
- Roanauk is possibly a reference to the Roanoke Colony, the lost British colony on an island off the coast of North Carolina, and the nearby Native American tribe the colony was named after. This could possibly be a reference to the idea that taunka are a forgotten tribe of tauren that colonized Icemist Village in Northrend some time in the distant past.
