The Sargerei, a faction of draenei twisted in the service of the Shadow Council, have sacrificed much in pursuit of power. The cult has embraced the worship of Sargeras.[1] Believing that Velen has betrayed their people because of his failing visions,[citation needed] the Sargerei now work to bring the Burning Legion to Draenor. The Sargerei see themselves as the chosen ones who are meant to conquer the stars.[2]
The Sargerei seem largely composed of draenei who were born on Draenor, as they refer to the original escapees from Argus as their forerunners.[3] The demons promised immortality to the Sargerei for destroying the draenei that still believe in the Light.[4]
History[]
Please add any available information to this section.
Many Auchenai betrayed their own and joined the Sargerei's ranks.
The Sargerei have presence in the Shadowmoon Valley, Talador, and Tanaan Jungle. They planned to overtake draenei settlements on Draenor, starting with the occupation of Shattrath City.[5]
After Gul'dan claimed control of the Iron Horde, he brought his "gift" to the Sargerei. Velhari was one of the first to accept the fel touch.[6]
Soon thereafter, they assaulted Auchindoun and blew a hole into its lower grounds in order to find Teron'gor. They also attacked the Temple of Sha'naar in Tanaan.[7]
The Sargerei relocated to Hellfire Citadel, where most of them were killed by the adventurers of the Alliance and Horde.

Notes and trivia[]
- [Sargerei Manifesto] can be gained from Antoran Wastes on Argus. Whether it is a nod to the alternate universe organization or a potential main universe group is unclear.
- During the initial phases of the WoD beta, the name was mistakenly written as Sargerai. The spelling was mostly corrected but in some cases it managed to get to the live servers (mobs in Garrison missions: Cult of Sargeras were called Sargerai until it was fixed in 6.2).

While there is no mention of the Sargerei as a group in the main timeline, it is possible they existed given the presence of Socrethar and Warbringer Razuun. It is also possible that individual draenei turned to the Burning Legion without formally creating an organization. The organization is not mentioned in World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 2, nor are draenei traitors. However the Chronicle also notes that Velen's failing visions were not, in fact, tied to Garrosh, but in fact the confrontation with K'ara during the draenei's arrival. This indicates that Velen also suffered from failing visions in the main timeline, a development that was previously indicated as tied to the changes to the alternate Draenor's timeline, and were also the reason for the formation of the Sargerei.[citation needed] The fact that Velen's visions also began to fail in the main timeline means that this could still have been a motive for the defection of some draenei to the Legion.
