Satchel of Savage Mysteries was rewarded for completing a Mists of Pandaria raid instance on LFR difficulty while Call to Arms was active for a given role.

In Warlords of Draenor, the source was changed to completing a level 100 heroic dungeon through LFD. It was later replaced with  [Savage Satchel of Cooperation] in patch 6.1.0.

The satchel also would contain an item level 630 armor, ring, weapon, or trinket from a level 100 Heroic dungeon. They are not listed here in order to keep the list concise.

We're aware of excessive queue times for Heroic Dungeons. To help players have a better experience in Dungeon Finder, we're expanding the rewards for Satchel of Savage Mysteries to award Heroic Dungeon loot in addition to the guaranteed Augment Rune, and a chance to contain a mount, Follower enhancement token, Battle Pet, or Battle-Stone. The satchel will remain Bind on Account and we'll continue to monitor Dungeon Finder queues and iterate as needed to ensure a great experience for everyone.

Patch changes

• Patch 6.1.0 (2015-02-24): Removed.
  
• Hotfix (2014-12-17): Now has a guaranteed chance to award a piece of Heroic Dungeon loot (item level 630 rare) appropriate for the character's loot specialization.
  
• Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): Updated.
