Notes and trivia[]
- The sea stalk is unique in that the stalk will continue to feed water to the flower even if the flower has been cut off. For this reason, sailors will keep the stalk and give the flower to a loved one - should the sailor go overboard, the saltwater entering the stalk will kill the flower.[1]
- The magical essence of the sea stalk is in the stem, rather than the leaves or flowers like most other magical plants.[1]
- The flower's shape, color and coastal presence might mean it is based on the real-world flower Sea thrift (Armeria maritima).
