Sea hags (or harridan) were originally conceptual creatures looking like "wailing women" designed for Gilneas. Their physical bodies were made up of coastal detritus, with hair of seaweed and bones of driftwood. They wore clothing crafted from tattered sails and old fishing nets, entangled with various bones. Their concept was that they would usually be found atop cliffs on the coast of Gilneas, staring out at the sea.
This concept may have inspired the Drustvar hags in Battle for Azeroth.
