The Searing Blade is an organization that formed in Durotar. The cult is merely another branch of the Shadow Council, along with its sister group the Burning Blade clan, and are attempting to usurp Thrall's new Horde. The group has taken up residence in Ragefire Chasm, a network of caverns beneath Orgrimmar, secretly attempting to subvert innocent members of the Horde.
History[]
World of Warcraft[]
Most of the members think they are becoming the next rising group of powerful warlocks that would replace the Shadow Council. However, except for these leaders, the troops are expendable. The goal is, in reality, twofold: kill Thrall's faithful and test the strength of those in the Searing Blade to see if they are truly worthy of joining the Shadow Council.[1] Under the order of Thrall, Neeru Fireblade sent adventurers to slay their Felguard leader, Taragaman the Hungerer, in an attempt to remove the Searing Blade threat.[2]
Thanks to the adventurers' acquisition of a [Lieutenant's Insignia], Thrall was able to infiltrate the group [3] and identify the leaders in order to kill them.[4] The destruction of the group[5], however, had a minimal effect on the rest of the Shadow Council.[6]
Cataclysm[]
They allied themselves with the Ragefire Troggs.[7]
The fight against the organization has become more front due to the presence of Orgrimmar Defender in Ragefire Chasm. Stone Guard Kurjack ordered to kill anyone placed under the sign of the Searing Blade.[8] With [Searing Binding], Searing Blade Warlocks have enslaved Ragefire Chasm's elemental spirits in order to destroy the city. The plan has been stopped and the molten elementals were finally back to rest.[9]
Mists of Pandaria[]
As of the events of Mists of Pandaria, it seems that Searing Blade is annihilated as Ragefire Chasm has received new inhabitants.

- During the Founding of Durotar, a cult of orcish warlocks still loyal to the Burning Legion killed Morg Wolfsong and stole his shamanic artifacts before Rexxar disposed of them.[10] They may have been from the Searing Blade.
- The Searing Blade is never called a clan, but it may have been named in honor of a hypothetical "Searing Blade clan" or it may be a splinter group of the similarly named and aligned Burning Blade clan.
